On September 24th, 2024, Qatar was designated into the ESTA program, making its citizens eligible to travel to the U.S. without seeking visa stamps first, for temporary travel as tourists and business visitors.

Qatari citizens will have an easier time visiting the U.S. now than they used to. Obtaining a tourist visa stamp is no longer required before they can visit the U.S. As a reminder, however, under this program a tourist or business visitor must get an ESTA approval before they will be allowed to board an airplane bound for the U.S. These approvals are generally valid for multiple trips, over 2 years.
Persons with criminal issues or negative U.S. immigration history, however, may still need to seek a visa before traveling to the U.S.
Entries into the U.S. under this program allow for stays of up to 90 days. Failure to comply with the limits and rules of the program can make you permanently ineligible from using it again.
We welcome this news of expansion of the program, and look forward to seeing more Qatari citizens in the U.S.!
